EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) _ C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc. (CHRW) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $99.1 million.

On a per-share basis, the Eden Prairie, Minnesota-based company said it had profit of 73 cents.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 10 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 98 cents per share.

The trucking company posted revenue of $3.79 billion in the period, also falling short of Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.8 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $577 million, or $4.19 per share. Revenue was reported as $15.31 billion.

C.H. Robinson shares have fallen slightly since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has increased slightly more than 1%. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $77.88, a fall of 10% in the last 12 months.
