Actizone technology launched by Byotrol and Solvay

Actizone is a new next generation surface hygiene technology which combines long lasting antimicrobial performance with great surface cleaning to match the leading cleaning brands in the market. This technology is the driving force behind a new range of trigger sprays and wipes for hard surfaces which are now available to global consumer markets.

The technology was developed through the partnership between Byotrol and Solvay. Following a polymer screening programme with Manchester University to understand the opportunities a Research and Development programme discovered that Solvay's specially designed polymers showed an excellent relationship with Byotrol antimicrobial technology when formulated under specific conditions. This led to a new unique antimicrobial technology which combines superior long lasting antimicrobial performance with excellent surface cleaning attributes meeting unmet needs for customers and consumers. This led to a UK patent being granted in 2014 and finished formulations being developed for global customers.
