BRP : CELEBRATES DURING THE ROTAX FLY-IN AND CAN-AM SPYDER GROSSGLOCKNER CHALLENGE

Gunskirchen, Austria, June 11, 2014- BRP hosted nearly 400Rotax pilots and Can-Am Spyder riders in Gunskirchen from June 5 to June 7, 2014 for the Rotax Fly-In and the Can-Am Spyder Grossglockner Challenge 2014.

"The idea was to bring together enthusiasts from the aviation scene with Can-Am Spyder riders coming from all over Europe, and hence enable an encounter of two completely different worlds of experience - both of whom trust Rotax engines. The positive energy and joy could be felt everywhere," said Thomas Uhr, general manager of BRP's Austrian facility, who not only joined the Spyder riders on their way to the Grossglockner but also gave the new aircraft engine a try.

Rotax Fly-In: 25 years of Rotax aircraft engines
BRP produced its 50,000th Rotax aircraft engine on June 5, 2014, a 912 iS Sport engine, the company's latest innovation in sports and light aircraft. The president of the Upper Austrian Landtag, Viktor Sigl was there to mark the event.

Some 160 participants from 20 countries and four continents came together for the second annual Rotax Fly-In. Most participants came from Great Britain, Germany and Austria, while some came from as far as Taiwan, Brazil, South Africa and more! Over 70 light and ultra-light aircraft departed from and arrived at the Wels airfield in the course of the event.

The Grossglockner
More than 200 Can-Am Spyder riders from Russia, Ukraine, France, Slovenia, Germany, Austria and many more participated in the Can-Am Spyder Grossglockner Challenge 2014. Seeing 141 Spyder roadsters on the Grossglockner High Alpine Road (Großglockner Hochalpenstraße) was impressive. The Challenge is all about the ultimate ride on one of the most scenic roads in the world.

Entertainment
The participants of the Rotax Fly-In and the Spyder Grossglockner Challenge seized this opportunity to take a tour of the company and see where BRP develops and produces its Rotax engines. Gathered at the Weisse Moewe Wels airfield on June 6, participants of both events exchanged their experiences and impressions. Special awards were given to the youngest and "most vintage" pilot, the one with the most flight hours, as well as the one with the longest journey to the event. "Take off and enjoy" was the motto for the test flights with light and ultra-light aircraft powered by the Rotax 912 iS Sport engine. Some of the participants also experienced the performance of Rotax engines first-hand while driving a Can-Am Spyder on a course at the airfield.

New milestone in BRP's history: opening of the first BRP dealer in the Wels area
A new BRP dealer, PSF Power Sport & Fun Fahrzeug GmbH, opened its gates directly in front of BRP's Austrian facility. At this new shop, powersports enthusiasts like BRP employees can purchase Can-Am Spyder roadsters and ATVs, as well as corresponding parts, accessories and clothing.
