Belden : Gearing Up for 2016 BICSI Winter Conference

Each winter, BICSI puts together an industry conference that expands information and communications technology professionals' technical insight, networking base and familiarity with quality vendors.

This year, the 2016 BICSI Winter Conference & Exhibition is scheduled for Jan. 31 through Feb. 4 in Orlando, Florida. Belden makes it a point to attend these events so we can share ideas and recommendations on tackling industry challenges and using technology to build a competitive advantage.

At this year's conference, we plan to reveal how several Belden data center and LAN solutions reduce operating costs, increase efficiency, support the latest technology and improve availability.

1. Interactive Demos

   The scale model of Belden's Aisle Containment Solution brings the benefits of containment to life so you can witness first-hand how it saves money, improves safety and enhances data center operation. You'll get to see how the innovative panels function to support cold- or hot-aisle containment and improve cooling system efficiency.

2. 4K Breakfast Presentation

   Belden will host a complimentary breakfast presentation - 4K: A Clear Picture on Cabling Solutions - on Feb. 2 at Rosen Shingle Creek Resort & Convention Center. We will discuss the impacts of 4K on the industry, as well as the cabling solutions required to support four times the picture resolution of standard high-definition resolution. 3. Annual Awards Banquet

   The BICSI Annual Awards Banquet will be held on Feb. 3 from 6pm to 10pm. This year, BICSI is welcoming the former lead singer of Kool & The Gang - James 'JT' Taylor - as he puts on an '80s flashback performance. There are rumors that we'll be seeing lots of big hair, huge shoulder pads and leg warmers - so get ready!

4. BICSI Cabling Skills Challenge

   We get to watch as BICSI installers and technicians from around the country race against the clock (and each other) to complete certain tasks, including 'speed' challenge events: fusion splicing, 50-pair punch down and cable routing, for example. The grand prize winner walks away with $5,000 (and gets to brag about being the 2016 BICSI Installer of the Year). This is the ninth year in a row that installers and technicians will compete in the BICSI Cabling Skills Challenge.

   Belden will showcase and demonstrate several innovative enterprise connectivity solutions, including:
