Bar Harbor Bankshares : David O’Connell Joins Bar Harbor Bank & Trust as Senior Vice President, Director of Operations

Rockland, Maine (June 6, 2024) - David O'Connell has joined Bar Harbor Bank & Trust as a Senior Vice President, Director of Operations. In this role, he provides strategic direction, advanced technical guidance, and leadership to the Deposit Operations, Loan Servicing, Retail Operations, and Account Reconciliation Teams.

David has over 20 years of experience in financial service operations. He began his career at Bank of America (previously MBNA), where he held multiple senior management roles while based in Maine. David then served as Vice President of Operations and Technology at Sallie Mae, and later as President of Upromise, Inc. Before joining Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, David was the Head of Product Development and Strategic Partnerships at Concerto Card Company.

David holds a Bachelors in Government from Georgetown University.

David, his wife Lauria, and their two children live in Camden, Maine.
