Jan 15, 2014

NEW YORK, January 15, 2014 - BNY Mellon, the global leader in investment management and investment services, has hired Daniel Scavone as regional managing director for BNY Mellon Wealth Management with responsibility for leading the firm's wealth management business in New Jersey. He reports to Doris Meister, president for U.S. Markets in New York Tri-State.

"New Jersey represents a major portion of the greater New York wealth market, which is the largest in the U.S.," Meister said. "Dan will lead BNY Mellon Wealth Management's strategic expansion throughout the state by opening additional locations and at least doubling our advisor group."

Adding staff is one of Scavone's top priorities. "We have openings for a number of portfolio managers and development professionals in New Jersey," he said. "Those positions are part of BNY Mellon Wealth Management's goal to grow its sales staff by 50 percent while also adding private bankers and portfolio managers."

Scavone joined BNY Mellon last month as the company pursues a major strategic growth plan, announced earlier this year. Previously, he was with JP Morgan Private Bank for eight years, most recently as a managing director in the New York Tri-State region. In prior positions there, he was market director for the Mid-Atlantic and New York Metro regions. He also served for ten years with Merrill Lynch where he was most recently director of the firm's Princeton, N.J., corporate campus office. He has a bachelor's degree in economics and english, and a master's in business administration from Rutgers as well as a Juris Doctorate from St. Louis University. He resides in Belle Mead, N.J.
