Bank of India reported unaudited earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2011. For the quarter, the company reported operating profit of INR 17,318.9 million, profit from ordinary activities before tax of INR 10,388.2 million, net profit from ordinary activities after tax of INR 7,161.5 million or INR 13.10 per basic and diluted share on total income of INR 80,022.7 million compared to operating profit of INR 13,887.8 million, profit from ordinary activities before tax of INR 8,908.4 million, net profit from ordinary activities after tax of INR 5,531.6 million or INR 12.44 per basic and diluted share on total income of INR 61,167.6 million a year ago. The bank's return on assets has declined to 0.80% for the quarter from 0.89% in the similar quarter of the last year. For the nine months, the company reported operating profit of INR 46,793.5 million, profit from ordinary activities before tax of INR 22,647.0 million, net profit from ordinary activities after tax of INR 17,247.9 million or INR 31.56 per basic and diluted share on total income of INR 230,241.1 million compared to operating profit of INR 41,789.4 million, profit from ordinary activities before tax of INR 27,677.4 million, net profit from ordinary activities after tax of INR 19,950.7 million or INR 37.99 per basic and diluted share on total income of INR 172,634.3 million a year ago.
