Grupo Santander has appointed Dirk Marzluf as Group Head of Technology and Operations. Mr. Marzluf will join on 1 September and there will be a transition period with the current Group Head of Technology and Operations, Andreu Plaza, before Mr. Plaza moves to his new position. Mr. Marzluf joins the bank from AXA Group, where he has served as Group Chief Information Officer (CIO) since 2013 leading the insurance group's technology and information security transformation, its overall project portfolio and as co-sponsor of its digital strategy. At AXA, he oversaw a team of more than 5,000 employees in 15 countries. His global technology leadership roles include previous work at Accenture, Daimler Chrysler and Winterthur Group. As Group Head of Technology and Operations, Mr. Marzluf will be responsible for leading the development of the long-term strategy of information management and operations at Grupo Santander. As part of this, he will coordinate and supervise the local implementation and administration of the Group's Information Technology and Operations services, in close collaboration with the country and local heads of IT and Operations. He will do so in a way that allows Grupo Santander to cover the business needs in the different markets with innovative, efficient and flexible IT and Operations platforms and processes.
