Emmenbrücke, 28. January 2014 - Barely a year after the merger of the two system integrators connectis and Getronics, the company has reported its best year yet in terms of turnover and revenue. The highlight was the Cisco global partner award of "Services Partner of the Year".

A global Cisco award, two senior management changes, and successful customer gains marked the first eventful business year of the extended connectis. Aside from a 6% growth in turnover after adjustment for discontinued activities, connectis also increased its revenue and, in turn, profitability last year. The workforce at the seven sites in German-speaking and French-speaking Switzerland rose from 350 to 365.

The most successful sectors were Unified Communication & Collaboration and IP Connectivity. In St.Gallen, for instance connectis won the contract for implementing a modern standardised communication platform based on Microsoft Lync. The new communication solution is worth around CHF 2.3 million. connectis also gained contracts in the industry and healthcare sectors. Implementation of a new LAN/WLAN solution with a forward-looking localisation application for the Bad Säntisblick retirement home in Waldstatt is one example. Matthias Täubl, connectis CEO, commented on the company's success: "The backbone of our services portfolio is the cooperation with our three strong partners Cisco, Microsoft and Avaya. With them onboard we can offer innovative forward-looking solutions that keep our customers ahead of the game in the Unified Communication & Collaboration, Workspace Management, IP Connectivity, Data Center, Security and Managed Services sectors."

Two changes in senior management also took place in 2013: Matthias Täubl took over the connectis helm from Tom Kleiber on 1 October. Matthias Täubl has been with connectis since 2008, most recently as member of the supervisory board, responsible for connectis strategic development and the integration of Getronics Switzerland. His appointment ensures the greatest measure of continuity. An internal management solution also presented itself in the person of Yves Schlösslin as new Chief Operation Officer. Yves Schlösslin replaced Matthias Täubl in his former post as of 1 June. Schlösslin previously held the post of Technical Consulting Director, responsible for the successful implementation of customer projects in all strategic areas of connectis AG.

Dr. Luzi Rageth, president of the connectis supervisory board, envisages continued progress on all levels for the upcoming business year: "The growing convergence of information technology and telecommunications is leading companies to increasingly seek external support to implement complex ICT projects. Suppliers who can offer extensive expertise in both areas, and an international presence that can handle cross-border projects, are in pole position Thanks to international cooperation with Getronics, connectis is excellently set-up in this respect." The company's growth strategy primarily focuses on organic development. However in view of the current consolidation underway on the supplier side, connectis does not rule out the prospect of one or two further acquisitions. An increase in workforce of around 5% is also planned for 2014.
