Astra Exploration Inc. said Thursday that it has agreed to acquire a remaining 20% interest in a project located in Northern Chile, bringing it under its full ownership.

The Canadian gold-and-silver miner said that it would acquire the remaining stake in the Pampa Paciencia project from Sociedad Quimica y Minera de Chile SA for 174,625 Canadian dollars (US$127,347) worth of shares.

Astra said it will issue 1.5 million of its shares at Wednesday's closing price value of C$0.12 a share.

"Acquiring the remaining 20% interest enables Astra to control 100% of critical prospective ground and expands our strategic foothold in this emerging epithermal district of Northern Chile. This is a major milestone for Astra and our shareholders," Chief Executive Brian Miller said.
