Arcadis announced that it has appointed Joost Slooten to the position of Director of Sustainability and External Affairs per March 1, 2016, reporting directly to Arcadis CEO Neil McArthur. Mr. Slooten was Director of Investor Relations for Arcadis and in that role he will be succeeded by Jurgen Pullens, the former Director of Investor Relations
for Nutreco. Joost Slooten has been with Arcadis for more than 20 years in Investor Relations roles, often in combination with Corporate Communications responsibilities. Prior to that he was active in corporate and marketing communications positions for AkzoNobel. In his new role Mr. Slooten will steer the Global Sustainability Program of Arcadis and lead its Core Sustainability Team. He will also lead the cooperation Arcadis has with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and the World Economic Forum (WEF) to leverage the Arcadis knowledge in sustainability within those organizations. In addition he will oversee the relationship with UN-Habitat with which Arcadis cooperates in its Shelter program and the World Urban Campaign to improve quality of life in rapidly growing cities around the world. Jurgen Pullens
comes to Arcadis from Nutreco, where he led the Investor Relations team from 1999 until the successful transaction with SHV followed by the delisting in 2015. Prior to that he also fulfilled communications, sustainability and accounting roles over his 16-year career with this firm in combination with his Investor Relations responsibilities. Before joining Nutreco Mr. Pullens worked as chief accountant at Triple P and auditor at Arthur Andersen.
