Socomore and Applus+ Rescoll have signed an agreement to develop and distribute intumescent and thermal barrier paints. Thanks to this collaboration, we take another step to contribute to the growing aerospace industry next to Applus+ Rescoll, our recently acquired materials testing and R&D technological lab in France.

Intrumescent paint, a solid protection against fires

This product is qualified by SAFRAN to meet the requirements of the aerospace market. In fact, intumescent paint is widely used in this sector as a functional fire-retardant coating, thus meeting stringent fire protection requirements.

Specifically, this coating can be applied to composite and metallic parts to protect them from delamination and/or deformation in the event of fire. Such parts are found in ships, trains, cars (batteries, for example), airplanes, etc. to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions. Therefore, as the use of lightweight materials in the aerospace industry, such as composites, increases, so does the sale of this product.

New worldwide sales network

Applus+ Rescoll's intumescent paint is renamed SOCOGLAZE INTUMESCENT 0617 and now forms part of SOCOMORE's range of coatings, which include: corrosion, erosion, high temperature, paint adhesion, low outgassing and thermal control.

For us, this partnership is an opportunity to develop this product, with the support of SOCOMORE's worldwide sales network, which now offers its aeronautical customers a complementary range of coatings.
