Apple announced that it is opening five stores in China in January out of 40 stores slated to be opened on the Chinese mainland in 2016. The company opened stores in the coastal city of Xiamen, the first in Fujian province and 26th on the Chinese mainland, in the northeastern city of Shenyang and will open another in the eastern city of Nanjing on 16 January. Two other stores will be opened in Guangzhou and Qingdao at the end of January.
