TOKYO, 18 October, 2014 - Shinichiro Ito, President of ANA Holdings, today welcomed the official unveiling of the new Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ), ANA was the launch customer for the MRJ with an order for up to 25 aircraft and will be the first operator of the next-generation regional airliner when it enters service in 2017.

Speaking at the rollout ceremony for the first MRJ aircraft at Mitsubishi Heavy Industry's Komaki Minami Airfield in Nagoya, Mr. Ito highlighted the major contribution that ANA had made to the development of the aircraft since placing its order in 27 March, 2008 through the provision of advanced know-how on flight operations and maintenance. The aircraft will incorporate state-of-the-art Mitsubishi technology to achieve superior economic and environmental performance while maintaining levels of reliability and passenger comfort.

Mr. Ito said: "I am deeply honored to attend today's rollout ceremony as the first airline to order the MRJ. We also look forward to becoming the first to operate this long-awaited domestically-produced Japanese jet aircraft. I am greatly looking forward both to taking delivery of the first aircraft and to the day when the MRJ takes off as part of our fleet, As the launch customer we are determined to help ensure the MRJ becomes an aircraft loved and appreciated by our passengers."
