PENNSYLVANIA AMERICAN WATER PLANS $700,000 WATER LINE UPGRADE IN WYOMISSING, SPRING TOWNSHIP WYOMSSING, Pa. (April 24, 2017) - Pennsylvania American Water today announced the start of water main installation projects in Wyomissing Borough and Spring Township to improve service reliability, prevent water outages and enhance fire protection. The projects, with a combined cost of approximately

$700,000, will replace aging pipe dating back to the 1960s.

Starting this week in Wyomissing, crews will install nearly 700 feet of new eight-inch ductile iron pipe along Wyomissing Hills Boulevard between Penn Ave and Park Road. Construction is expected to be completed by mid-May, weather permitting. The company is coordinating the water main replacement with the Borough's storm water and road restoration projects.

In Spring Township, the company will install approximately 3,400 feet of new eight-inch ductile iron pipe along Spohn Road between Windmill and Old Fritztown Roads. Construction is scheduled to begin early June, with completion expected by the end of August, weather permitting.

Construction will take place weekdays between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Traffic restrictions will be in place during construction hours, and motorists are urged to find alternate routes. During construction, customers might experience temporary water service interruptions, discolored water and/or lower than normal water pressure.
