Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that it has added the Nebraska Blizzards to its

record setting expansion for the upcoming season starting in November. 'This is a very important addition to the league,' stated

ABA CEO Joe Newman. 'We have been eager to expand into Nebraska, Iowa and Colorado and hopefully the Blizzards will

trigger additional teams. We have a great new owner in Malcom Owens and are confident he will represent the ABA well on

and off the court.'

Originally from Atlanta GA and now a resident of Omaha, Owens added, 'I want to give opportunities to players and coaches

to compete at the professional level; the ABA is a great fit. I am so excited to kick off our first season. I played both basketball

and football but a bad injury cost me my scholarships and it has always been my dream to own or coach a team. I'm really

playing in the north area of the South Central Division.
