Signing of an Agreement to Improve the Cancer Screening Rate (Ibaraki Prefecture)

In the fiscal year ended March 31, 2022, Alfresa Corporation and Ibaraki Prefecture entered into a partnership to increase the cancer screening rate within the prefecture. We have undertaken several initiatives to boost this rate among resi- dents. For instance, we have created posters for display at customers' establishments. We have also organized web seminars on cancer awareness to help our employees spread accurate knowledge about the disease. In addition to paid leave, the Company has established a system that allows the use of accumulated leave*1 specifically for cancer treatment (such as hospital visits). Furthermore, the Company has worked to increase participation in cancer screenings through such initiatives as fully or partially subsidizing employee health check-ups and cancer screenings. In recognition of these efforts, in October 2022, the Company received the Award for excellence from Ibaraki Prefecture at the Ibaraki Cancer Forum 2022, an event focused on living with cancer.

diabetic nephropathy. In response to this program, prefectural and municipal medical associations and primary care physicians are collaborating to implement initiatives such as identifying high-risk individuals, encouraging them to seek medical attention, and providing health guidance.

The program will provide six months of self-care guidance for individuals with diabetic nephropathy who are in the pre- dialysis stage, in collaboration with the medical institutions where the participants receive treatment and the local pharmacists at nearby community pharmacies. In implementing the program, we will use the services of M Adhere Inc., which is a subcontractor of Alfresa Corporation. In encouraging participation in the program, we will prioritize recommendations by attending physicians and pharmacists, facilitating support that leads to the development of individualized treatment plans and the implementation of instructions from attending physicians for individual patients.
