Airbus said it will partner with Tata Group to build an assembly line for the H125 helicopter in India.

The final assembly line for the civil range of the helicopter will be the first helicopter-manufacturing facility by the private sector in the country, the French plane maker said Friday.

Tata Advanced Systems Limited, a subsidiary of the Tata Group, will work with Airbus Helicopters on setting the facility up and running.

The facility is also set to be responsible for testing, qualification and delivery of the helicopters to customers in India and the region, Airbus said.

The assembly line will take 24 months to build and first deliveries from the site are expected to start in 2026.

The location of assembly line will be jointly determined by the two partners, Airbus said.
