Etihad Airways P.J.S.C. is looking to acquire minority shares in Alitalia - Compagnia Aerea Italiana S.p.A. as part of a deal with Air France-KLM SA which already owns 25% stake in Alitalia, Les Echos reported citing unspecified sources. As soon as the financial situation of Air France-KLM improve, around 2014 or 2015, it will purchase Etihad's shares in Alitalia in a cash or share swap transaction, Les Echos said. No one at Etihad or Air France was immediately available to comment to Dow Jones.
