MARCONI AIRPORT, 675 THOUSAND PASSENGERS IN MARCH

Gradual recovery compared to the volumes of 2019,

while there is a increase in passengers on 2022

Another month of gradual recovery for Bologna Airport. In March 2023 Marconi recorded 675,925 passengers, which show a significant increase on the same month of 2022 (+21.2%), but which also represent a negative gap of 7.5% compared to March 2019, in the pre-Covid period.

In detail, passengers on domestic flights were 156,343 (-5.7% on 2022 and -3.1% on 2019), while passengers on international flights were 519,582, up sharply on 2022 (+32.5%), but down (-8.7%) on 2019.

Aircraft movements in March 2023 were 5,132, up by 12.3% on 2022, but still down by 11.1% compared to 2019. The volumes of freight increased - to 4,021.6 tonnes - growing by 3.8% on 2022 and by 12.2% on 2019.

The most popular destinations in March 2023 were: Catania, Barcelona, London Heathrow, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Palermo, Madrid, Tirana, Istanbul, Frankfurt and Bucharest.

In the first quarter of 2023, Bologna Airport recorded 1,801,409 passengers (up by 42.0% on 2022 and down by 8.1% on 2019). There were 14,014 total movements (+20.7% on 2022 and -13.2% on 2019), while the freight were 10,678 tonnes (+1.7% on 2022 and +5.9% on 2019).
