The Canadian dollar weakened against the greenback on Thursday, and the yield on benchmark government debt slipped. The loonie was trading 0.2% lower at C$1.3629 to the greenback, or 73.37 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.3591 to 1.3634. Canadian government 10-year bond yields fell 1 basis points to 3.562%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt were flat at 4.3555%. U.S. June crude futures rose 50 cents to $79.13 a barrel on Thursday.
