TV Guide Magazine LLC and CBS Interactive today announced they will cross-promote to each others' audiences in TV Guide Magazine and across CBS Interactive's portfolio of leading technology, gaming and media brands. The agreement will enable TV Guide Magazine to significantly expand its digital footprint and to help boost subscriptions to the weekly print magazine.

CBS Corp. acquired the TV Guide trademark and TV Guide Digital, which includes TVGuide.com and TV Guide Mobile, in May 2013. TV Guide Magazine LLC is a separate entity owned by OpenGate Capital, which has a perpetual license to publish TV Guide Magazine worldwide.

Under the terms of the agreement announced today, selected TV Guide Magazine content will be featured in a new section on CBS Interactive's TV.com and TVGuide.com properties, which together boast more than 24 million monthly unique visitors, doubling the reach of TV Guide Magazine's content online. TV Guide Magazine subscriptions also will now be promoted across CBSi properties, including TVGuide.com, TV.com, Metacritic, CNET, CHOW and GameSpot. CBS Interactive websites will also be promoted within the pages of TV Guide Magazine, which has a total weekly audience of nearly 12 million adults.

"This agreement not only gives us a more robust digital presence, it solidifies our relationship with CBS, one of the world's most prestigious and prolific content producers. We're excited to work with CBS Interactive to strengthen the TV Guide Magazine brand across platforms and serve our advertisers better. It also allows us to cost-effectively support our subscription business, which continues to serve millions of readers each week who are looking for trusted guidance about all things television," said Jack Kliger, CEO, TV Guide Magazine.

TV Guide Magazine is held under the newly formed OpenGate Media Group, an investment division within OpenGate Capital that was launched in late 2013. The partnership between TV Guide Magazine and CBS Interactive represents a significant development in the group's objective to continue growing OpenGate's media footprint and capabilities within the firm's portfolio of media-related holdings.

"The TV Guide brand is one of the most enduring and iconic brands in the world," said Eric Johnson, Executive Vice President and General Manager of CBS Interactive's technology, games and media unit. "The opportunity to integrate the magazine's editorial assets with our digital properties will help build audience and ensure we continue to bring world-class insights and reporting to our respective audiences."
