Free entertainment, games, swimming, crafts, giveaways, college planning presentations, and more will comprise the NWA School Choice Festival, which runs 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, January 14 at The Jones Center in Springdale. Admission is free and many schools in the region will be represented.

This event is planned to coincide with the history-making celebration of National School Choice Week 2017, which will feature more than 21,000 school choice events across all 50 states.

“Northwest Arkansas is home to some of the top schools in Arkansas, with our students consistently leading the state in academic performance,” said Heather Holaway of NWA School Choice. “By uniting educators in our common goal: providing the highest quality education, we have the ability to build an even better Northwest Arkansas together.”

“I feel very strongly about leading the charge for school choice in Northwest Arkansas while emphasizing all of the amazing educational opportunities children in our area have,” said Dr. Martin W. Schoppmeyer, Jr., Superintendent and Founder of Haas Hall Academy. “Our goal is to increase Arkansas high school graduation rates, ensure preparation for higher education or technical educational pursuits, and to provide each Arkansan the necessary information to make an informed decision on the educational future of their child.”

Northwest Arkansas School Choice and Haas Hall Academy are sponsoring the event, and more than 500 people are expected to attend.
