SK networks that produced the greatest results in its corporate history on the back of achievements in new growth axes and global business last year is endeavoring to lay the foundation for growth and realize a mid-to-long-term vision while taking the initiative in developing overseas regional specialists expected to emerge as advance guards of globalization by operating large-scale overseas training programs in the new year.

An official with the company said, "As the scale of global business is rapidly expanded in the resource development, auto and consumer goods sectors and it becomes necessary to continuously develop new business, development of experts well versed about the local markets in overseas strategic regions is the key to the corporate success."

SK networks has secured 70 overseas strongholds in 20 countries and plans to explore markets in 42 countries including Laos, Ecuador, Chile, Kenya and others in an effort to nurture 300 overseas regional experts including 52 employees expected to complete the program this year for the next 5 years.

Trainees selected based on comprehensive evaluation on a spirit of challenge, the frontier spirit and competence are expected to emerge as experts in pertinent countries by fulfilling strategic assignments ranging from pertinent languages, culture, laws, institutions and networking to exploration of business opportunity for a total of 9 months including 3 months of pre-preparations at home and 6 months of training abroad.

In a ceremony to celebrate the first graduates of the program, CEO Chang-kyu Lee said, "The company has successfully conducted global business and achieved growth thanks to sacrifice and passion of those before us who created something from nothing. I hope that you will have a sense of duty to create a new future for the company and the nation in terms of economic development with creativity without being preoccupied with one's own specialized areas."

Overseas Regional Expert Program is one of action programs of 'PRIDE Culture Campaign' that SK networks introduced last year in an effort to maximize and unify competence of employees on the back of innovation of people and culture, and it is expected to draw attention from domestic companies as it takes the initiative in systematically developing global talents on a large scale for the global community.
