Chairman of S&T Group, Choi Pyung-Kyu, was selected as the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year, which is the world's largest and the best authoritative global management award.

Chairman Choi Pyung-Kyu won the Entrepreneur of The Year for Industrial section in the ceremony hosted by Ernst & Young Han Young accounting firm at Shilla hotel, Seoul on Nov 22.

Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year award is to applaud the effort and the passion of entrepreneurs who succeeded with outstanding vision and to inspire & spread the spirit of entrepreneurship all over the world. First created by the U.S-based accounting firm in 1986, EOY has been the world's largest and the best authoritative global management award, currently being held in more than 140 cities in 50 countries.

Chairman Choi Pyung-Kyu was highly praised for the innovation and influences on domestic and global economy among six major categories including Spirit of entrepreneurship, Financial performance, Strategic direction, Influence on domestic & global economy, Innovation and Personal character & Social contribution.

For this year's juries, the former Strategy and Economy Minister Yoon Jeung-hyun, the professor of business management at Korea University Park kyoung-seo, the professor of business management at Seoul National University Ahn Tae-sik, the vice-chairman of Federation of Korea Industries Jung Byung-chul, the former chairman of POSCO Lee Ku-taek, the vice president and chief executive of Mae-Kyung Economy Jang Yong-sung and the representative director of EOY Techniques Sung Kyu-dong were participated in.

In the meanwhile, the chairman of FILA Korea Yoon Yun-soo (consumer goods section), the chairman of Se-ah group Lee Un-hyeong (steel products section) and the president of Siliconworks Han Dae-geun (Technology section) as well as Chairman Choi Pyung-Kyu were selected respectively.
