Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Islamic Republi : Deputy Foreign Minister receives Newly Appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Kabul

Kabul - Deputy Foreign Minister for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Mr. Naseer Ahmad Andisha met with the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Kabul, Mr. Chin Ki Hoon, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mr. Andisha welcomed Ambassador Chin Ki Hoon as the new Korean Ambassador to Afghanistan and described the relations between the two countries important.

While appreciating the cooperation of the Republic of Korea to Afghanistan over the last 14 years in different spheres, including cooperation of the Korean Provincial Reconstruction team in Parwan province and scholarships for Afghan youths, Mr. Andisha said that Afghanistan as a peace-loving country and candid partner of the Republic of Korea comprehensively supports the peaceful position of this country, and therefore issued a press release in which it strongly condemned hydrogen bomb test by North Korea and called for a nuclear weapon-free zone on the Korean Peninsula.

In return, Ambassador Chin Ki Hoon expressed appreciation for the position of Afghanistan towards condemning hydrogen bomb test by North Korea as well as Afghan government support for his country's position at the UN. He also added that the government of Korea hopes that with the joint cooperation of friendly countries, further sanctions would be imposed on North Korea so that this country could not put the security and stability of the region and world at risk.

In conclusion, Ambassador Chin Ki Hoon reassured of his country's cooperation to Afghanistan and wished to further strengthen the ties between the two countries during his diplomatic mission as the Korean Ambassador to Afghanistan.
