The opening of the new 115 bedroom Holiday Inn Express next to Stockport train station was celebrated last week with an official launch and ribbon cutting ceremony (pictured).

Guests from across the local business community, operators Interstate, Stockport Council and Muse Developments came together to celebrate the opening at Stockport Exchange and to tour the stunning new generation four hotel.

Stockport Council Leader, Councillor Alex Ganotis, officiated the ribbon cutting. Speaking at the event Councillor Ganotis said: 'I am delighted to welcome Holiday Inn Express to Stockport town centre. The opening of the hotel marks a huge step forward for the town as it seeks to become one of the North West's most successful boroughs. It shows that Stockport is genuinely open for business and ambitious about its future.'

The hotel is part of Stockport Exchange, a new modern business district located next to Stockport train station. The project was delivered by national developer and urban regeneration specialist Muse Developments in partnership with Stockport Council, and is part of a £1 billion regeneration programme, Investing in Stockport, currently taking place across Stockport.

Having proven popular since it opened its doors, the hotel provides the latest design concept as well as two meeting rooms. Bedrooms feature Smart TVs, roomy power showers, flexible workspace and breakfast is included in all rates. Guests can relax in the Express Café Bar and enjoy beverages, snacks and meals, making it a great place to stay. Serving a delicious range of hot and cold food throughout the day, the hotel's Express Café Bar and restaurant is also open for members of the public and visitors to Stockport to use and enjoy.

'It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase this hotel and get to know some of the local businesses in the area. Guests gave very positive feedback of the hotel overall and we are looking forward to being part of Stockport's Vision for the future' says Carl Butterworth General Manager of The Holiday Inn Express Stockport, part of InterContinental Hotels Group.

Holiday Inn Express is the ideal choice for the busy traveller, offering them a great night's rest in a great location and an efficient stay. And, what's more, kids can stay for free.
