BLOOMINGTON, MN--(Marketwired - Jan 15, 2014) - MDI Achieve announced today that MatrixCare, the fastest-growing Electronic Health Record for the long-term care and senior living continuum is fully ICD-10 enabled and provides organizations with a full suite of capabilities:

  • Comprehensive library of ICD-10 diagnosis codes.
  • An interactive general equivalence mapping (GEM) tool to support training staff on the inherent differences between the ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards.
  • An innovative claims management test mode that allows organizations to easily simulate and manage test claims separate from production claims.

MDI Achieve President and CEO John Damgaard commented, "We are committed to ensuring that our clients are fully prepared for ICD-10 well in advance of the October 1, 2014 implementation deadline. Providers who are not ready will face significant risks to their business due to delayed or denied claims for reimbursement. As a strategic partner and trusted business advisor, our clients expect us to provide the information and tools they need to prepare for major regulatory changes like ICD-10. Delivering these critical tools well in advance reflects our commitment to superior care and better outcomes for our clients."

On November 1, 2013, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) instructed the Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) to implement an official ICD-10 Testing Week with trading partners. This is a change from CMS's previous position that they would not be performing any testing. For more information, visit www.CMS.gov. According to CMS, the MAC testing week will be March 3-7, 2014. The MACs were required to inform CMS of their testing plans by December 3, 2013.
