India's Consumer-Price Index Rose at a Slower Pace in December

India's consumer-price index rose in December but at a slower pace than in the previous month, government data showed Tuesday.

The benchmark consumer-price index increased 4.6% in December compared with the same period a year earlier, decelerating from the 6.9% rise in November.

The urban consumer-price index for December rose 5.2% and the rural reading increased 4.0%, the data showed.
