Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction contract by Petrojarl I for the upgrade of its FPSO Petrojarl I.
The Petrojarl I is a Teekay Petrojarl-managed FPSO, built in 1986, which has been active in the North Sea. The Petrojarl I will be arrive in early January 2015 and the upgrade will take about a year. Following its upgrade, the FPSO will be deployed offshore Brazil.
The work, an EPC redeployment upgrade contract, has not been carried out in Europe before. The works consist of basic engineering, detailed and construction design and engineering, workshop drawings, interface engineering, marine & process equipment procurement, fabrication, construction, corrosion protection/coating, transport and lifting operations, integration, mechanical completion, performance testing and commissioning activities, including conforming to Brazilian compliance regulations.
