Funeral begins for Pope Emeritus Benedict

STORY: More than 60,000 people were expected to attend the funeral in front of St. Peter's Basilica.

Attending the Mass were official delegations from Italy and Benedict's native Germany.

Others leaders, including the king and queen of Belgium, the queen of Spain and about 13 heads of state of state or government, attended in a private capacity.

Most countries will be represented by their ambassadors to the Vatican.
