James Montgomery today announced the three finalists for Moneyball, the business plan competition serving as the finale to OASIS: The Montgomery Summit. Held March 5-6, 2014 at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Santa Monica, OASIS is an invitation-only event that brings together top entrepreneurs and investors, senior-level media and technology executives, and leading industry visionaries.

"Our panel of judges selected three finalists from a long list of outstanding candidates," said OASIS founder Montgomery.

This year's finalists are Bridg (www.bridg.com), a marketing automation service for small companies; Deep Forest Media (www.deepforestmedia.com), a mobile advertising company; and Vow to be Chic (www.vowtobechic.com), which rents designer bridesmaid dresses online.

Moneyball, which will take place on March 6, is designed to be the largest-prized business competition ever held. Top venture investors will select one of these three early-stage company for a significant investment, and qualified OASIS attendees will be given the chance to invest in $5,000 increments--subject to capacity--within the framework of recent crowdsourcing rules. The overall investment in Moneyball's winning company is expected to be between $500,000 and $1 million; Montgomery himself has pledged to fund the initial $100,000 investment.

"Considering the incredible competition, it's an honor to be chosen as a contender in the Moneyball finals," said Deep Forest Media founder Naghi Prasad, whose company brings deep technology to the world of mobile advertising, creating the ultimate tool for marketers to get results from their mobile spend globally. "We are thrilled to participate in Moneyball, which will introduce us to a wide audience in a fun and innovative way," said Vow to be Chic founder and CEO Kelsey Dooray. Amit Jain, founder of Bridg, agreed. "It's great to be a finalist in Moneyball and engage with the world-class panel of venture investors."

Moneyball will be hosted by business author and Forbes publisher Rich Karlgaard. The judges are Dana Stalder of Matrix Partners, Michael Abbot of Kleiner Perkins, Jim Armstrong of March Capital Partners, and Matt McCall of Pritzker Group Venture Capital.

Moneyball is sponsored by Cooley LLP, Silicon Valley Bank, Angel List, and Pritzker Group Venture Capital.

145 companies are slated to present this year at OASIS. The Moneyball finalists all fall into the "First Look" track of companies that generate less than $10 million in yearly revenues. Companies with revenues between $10 million and $50 million are grouped into an "Emerging" track, and those with yearly revenues exceeding $50 million comprise the "Growth" category. Prior conferences have provided early looks at Facebook, Twitter, Pandora, Splunk, Marketo, Meraki, Exact Target, Rocket Fuel, and other breakout companies.

Speakers at this year's OASIS include Eric Schmidt, executive chairman of Google; Jared Cohen, director of Google Ideas; John Chen, CEO of BlackBerry; Deepak Chopra, America's preeminent expert on alternative medicine and holistic health; Paul Maritz, the former Microsoft executive and current CEO of data firm Pivotal; Ashish Thakkar, named World's Best Young Entrepreneur by the World Entrepreneurship Forum; and Brazilian mining billionaire Bernardo Paz, who will talk about the importance of creativity and innovation through the context of his world-famous art retreat in the Atlantic Forest of Brazil. Panels will be moderated by television anchor Emily Chang of Bloomberg West and New York Times columnist Quentin Hardy.
