OSLO, July 10 (Reuters) - Norwegian core inflation, which strips out changing energy prices and taxes, was lower than expected in June, Statistics Norway data showed on Wednesday.

Core inflation was up 3.4% year-on-year. Analysts polled by Reuters had on average forecast a 3.6%. The central bank's projection was also for 3.6%. In May, the rate was 4.1%.

Compared with May, core inflation was up 0.2%.
