In the period from 1 to 8 January, 2017 NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport handled 83,789 passengers, which is 33.6% more than in the same period of 2016.

Passenger traffic on domestic routes increased by 30.8% compared to the same period of 2016, to 56,619 passengers.

The number of handled passengers on international routes of far abroad totaled 14,713 passengers (+31.6% to similar indicators of the last year). Also, compared to the same period of 2016, the number of passengers on destinations to CIS countries and Central Asia increased by 50.9% to 12,117.

The most popular cities on domestic airlines during winter holidays became Moscow, St. Petersburg, Khabarovsk, Yekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Vladivostok and Sochi. Bangkok, Sanya, Cam Ranh, Beijing, Phuket, Osh, Bishkek, Almaty, Khujand and Tashkent became the most popular international destinations.

Despite adverse weather conditions during the first week of the new year in Novosibirsk most of the flights were performed on schedule.

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity - up to 1300 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II Categories.
