Profile

Prior to assuming an advisory role with Alloy Ventures, Mr. Sanders was a Partner in the firm.
After a successful entrepreneurial career, he became a venture capitalist in 1987.
He was the founding president of Komag and of TransImage, and was the first vice president of sales and marketing of Shugart Associates, growing sales from $0 to $170M.
He was also an early individual investor and director of Archive, a very successful public magnetic storage company where he worked with Craig Taylor.
Mr. Sanders also had responsibilities in engineering and marketing at Ampex and Iomec, Inc., prior to beginning his entrepreneurial career.
Mr. Sanders received a BS in electrical engineering at North Carolina State University (1959) and his MBA at the University of Santa Clara (1969).
He is a director of Alacritech, a provider of data acceleration solutions.
