Victor J. Dzau

Victor J.
Dzau was the founder of Corgentech, Inc. (founded in 1999) where he served as Director in 2006.
He currently holds the position of Vice Chairman at The National Research Council.
Additionally, he is the Chancellor-Health Affairs at Duke University since 2004.
Dr. Dzau is also a Member of the National Academy of Sciences, President of the National Academy of Medicine (United States) since 2014, and a Member of Europäische Akademie der Wissenschaften und Künste.
He is an Advisor at Kearny Venture Partners and a Member of the European Academy of Sciences & Arts.
In his former positions, Dr. Dzau served as President, Chief Executive Officer & Director of Duke University Health System, Inc. from 2011 to 2014.
He was also the Chairman of the Medicine Department at Stanford University and The Brigham & Women's Hospital, Inc. He served as Chairman of the National Institutes of Health and the Association of Academic Health Centers.
Dr. Dzau was an Independent Director at Medtronic, Inc. from 2011 to 2014 and at PepsiCo, Inc. from 2011 to 2014.
He was a Director at Anesiva, Inc., Genzyme Corp., Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and The North Carolina Biotechnology Center.
He also served as a Director at Akebia Therapeutics, Inc. Dr. Dzau was a Founding Member of the Academy Executive Committee at Harvard Medical School from 1996 to 2004.
He obtained his doctorate degree from McGill University.
