Mr. Griffen started his career in 1986 with CIGNA International in Tokyo as vice president and portfolio manager.
In 1991 he moved to Draycott Partners in Boston before becoming chief investment officer at Deutsche Trust Bank Japan Limited & Scudder Investments Japan Limited (Tokyo) between 1997 and 2005.
He joined Lazard Japan Asset Management in May 2005 where he is at present a representative director and chief investment officer.
Mr. Griffen holds a BA in Business & East Asian studies from Wittenberg University and he received an Advanced Japanese Language degree from Waseda University.
He also holds an MBA in International Finance from the University of South Carolina.
