Savant maintains a series of asset allocation models based on risk tolerance and investment objective. Model portfolios typically will include a blend of low-cost mutual funds and exchange traded funds (ETFs) across a broad spectrum of equity, fixed income and alternative asset classes. The firm’s investment committee is responsible for identifying and implementing the methods of analysis used by the firm in formulating investment strategies and model portfolios. In general, they take a structured, long-term investing approach based on Modern Portfolio Theory.

Exencial Wealth Advisors primary method of analysis is a fundamental analysis of an investments price, its expected income and returns, and applicable risks. The firm employs a value invest approach that focuses on buying assets at what appear to be relatively attractive values which are expected to provide higher expected returns over time. They employ an asset allocation strategy in managing their clients' assets allocating among the following asset classes: Fixed Income/Alternative Investment Component, Equity Component and Cash. This allocation may be also be implemented using individual equities or bonds, ETFs, mutual funds and annuity sub-accounts and other diversified investment strategies. The fixed income/alternative component is conservatively invested and is often used to provide cash to clients when they need to take withdrawals from their accounts. The firm strives to manage fixed income investments with the goal of achieving a return equal to or greater than inflation. Investments may include high-quality government bonds and corporate bonds, certificates of deposit, foreign bonds, preferred stocks, bank loans, lower quality bonds, real estate, and income investment strategies, among others.

The firm employs fundamental analysis to evaluate an investment’s price, its expected income and returns, and applicable risks by analyzing the current market prices and/or expected return for broad asset classes such as bonds, real estate and stocks. The figures for each asset class are then compared to the figures of other asset classes.
