Pierre Sáenz joined the Impala team as a Principal in March 2001 and was promoted to Partner in January 2005.
He is a member of Impala’s Investment Committee.
Since joining Impala, Mr Sáenz worked on the investment in Menaje del Hogar and has been a member of the company's decision-making committees.
Prior to Impala he worked at Vista Capital, Spain's leading private equity firm which he joined in 1997, as Assistant Investment Manager.
While at Vista Capital, Mr Sáenz worked with Carlos Guerrero on the consolidation of the Superdiplo supermarket chain, taking part in acquisition negotiations and due diligence procedures, as well as the arrangement of funding for these operations.
At the time of the Superdiplo IPO, he was entrusted by the company with investor relations, successfully establishing relations and feedback with all of the main international stock market firms in less than two years.
Once again with Carlos Guerrero, he led the acquisition of Vilesa, a glass packaging concern.
Pierre Sáenz began his career as an investment analyst with the Spanish private equity firm Mercapital Servicios Financieros in 1995.
While at Mercapital he was involved in all stages of the due diligence process for a number of investments, as well as working on the preparation and follow-up of investee company business plans.
Pierre Sáenz holds degrees in Economics and Business Studies from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (Icade) and the École Supérieure de Commerce de Reims in France.
