Monte Morris

Monte Morris graduated from the University of Texas in Austin in 1976, with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts.
After a brief stint in the retail clothing business, Mr. Morris entered restaurant management, where he has remained for the last 25 years.
Starting out as an Assistant Manager at Bennigan's in 1978, Mr. Morris' operational talent was quickly identified, and he was promoted to General Manager within 15 months.
As a General Manager, Mr. Morris built his store into the top-grossing Bennigan'Õs unit in a 56-store region.
In 1985, Mr. Morris joined Houston's Restaurants, where he served as General Manager of various locations around the United States for the next ten years.
During his tenure at Houston's, Mr. Morris earned a reputation as one of the best General Managers in the entire company, while contributing to Houston's reputation as the finest upscale restaurant chain in America.
In 1995, seeking new experiences, Mr. Morris joined the Dallas-based Cajun restaurant chain, Razzu's, as an Operating Partner.
However, Mr. Morris was soon recruited to join the operations team at Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse in Dallas, then the highest-grossing restaurant in Texas.
Mr. Morris was hired to help lead a national rollout of the brand, but this plan was surprisingly derailed when the restaurant was sold in 1996 to publicly traded Lone Star Steakhouse.
Wishing to remain in the upscale, independent segment of the restaurant business, Mr. Morris joined Brook's Prime Steakhouse in Denver, Colorado as Operating Partner.
In just one year, Mr. Morris helped to double sales, while fortifying Brook's reputation as one of the premier upscale steakhouses in Colorado.
