Mr. Michael S.
Lares is a Vice President & Senior Investment Officer at Chemung Canal Trust Co. He provides portfolio management, technical analysis, portfolio modeling, and financial planning services to Wealth Management clients, not-for-profits, retirement plans, and institutions, utilizing his analytical skills and broad financial experience.
Mr. Lares joined Chemung Canal Trust in January 2004 as a Portfolio Manager.
He was elected Assistant Vice President in 2005, promoted to Vice President in 2010, and promoted to Senior Investment Officer in 2018.
He has an MBA with Honors in Finance from St. John’s University in New York, Tobin School of Business.
He also is a graduate of NYBA Trust Investment School, The American College, and has attended the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Pennsylvania.
He is a Certified Financial Planner.
