Michael Obuchowski

Dr. Michael Obuchowski is a Founder & Chief Investment Officer at Merlin Capital, Inc. He founded Merlin Asset Management (MAM) to develop and manage innovative modern institutional investment strategies.
He has developed a range of investment strategies, with the most recent GIPS performance track record starting in the second half of 2012.
Previously, he joined North Shore Asset Management in July 2012 coming from First Empire Asset Management, Inc. He worked at First Empire Asset Management (FEAM) since its inception in July 2008.
As FEAM’s Chief Investment Officer, he was responsible for the development and management of all equity-related investment strategies.
As a Director of Research, Dr. Obuchowski was responsible for FEAM’S equity research efforts.
He developed a range of top ranked large cap growth equity investment strategies.
Prior to First Empire Asset Management, he was a co-founder, Principal and Portfolio Manager at Altanes Investments.
He was responsible for the development and management of investment strategies, portfolio management, trading, compliance and operations.
Before co-founding Altanes Investments, Dr. Obuchowski was Vice President, Director of Research and Portfolio Manager at Ashland Management.
He was a member of the Investment Committee, specialized in the healthcare and technology companies and developed a range of quantitative SMID investment strategies.
Dr. Obuchowski earned his Ph.D.
in Clinical Psychology from the New School for Social Research in New York.
He is a member of the American Finance Association, CFA Institute, Investment Management Consultants Association and the New York Society of Security Analysts.
