Kemper currently serves as Non-Executive Chairman at Tower Properties Co. since 2005.
He is a Director at the Chamber of Commerce, Kansas City Design Center, and The Citizens Association, Inc. He is Co-Trustee of the William T.
Kemper Foundation since 2014 and President & Trustee of The Kansas City Public Library.
Formerly, Mr. Kemper was Chairman of The National Trust for Historic Preservation.
He was Vice Chairman of Commerce Bancshares, Inc. (Missouri) from 1997 to 2018 and continued with the firm until 2025.
He served as Director at MRIGlobal and Generali USA Life Reassurance Co. from 2003 to 2006.
He was Director of the Downtown Council of Kansas City and Principal at Citicorp, Inc., M.A. Schapiro & Co., Inc., and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
He was a Member-National Board at the Smithsonian Institution.
Mr. Kemper earned an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1979 and completed undergraduate studies at Harvard College in 1975.
