They are a subsidiary of Nuveen Finance LLC, ultimately owned by TIAA Board of Governors. TAL provides services to individual and institutional separately managed account clients primarily through investment advisory programs such as wrap-fee and dual contract arrangements, and Exchange Traded Funds. On occasion, the firm provides portfolio recommendations to sponsors of unit investment trusts which are sold by the sponsor through broker-dealers and other firms.

TIAA-CREF Investment Management LLC (TCIM) is a registered investment advisor headquartered in New York City. The firm was founded in 1997 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of TIAA-CREF Asset Management LLC, ultimately owned by TIAA Board of Governors. TCIM provides investment management and certain administrative services necessary for the operation of the College Retirement Equities Fund (CREF), a diversified open-end registered investment management company that consists of eight accounts, that issues individual, group and tax-deferred variable annuity contracts.

The firm was founded in 1975 and is a subsidiary of Morgan Stanley Domestic Holdings, Inc., ultimately held by Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS). MSIM provides discretionary and non-discretionary investment management services and products to institutional clients and individual investors. The firm also advises clients as to the appropriate allocation of assets among multiple separate accounts and/or investment companies or other pooled vehicles that the firm advises.
