He is a trustee of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Ford Foundation and a former trustee of Yale University and The Rockefeller Foundation.
Mr. Schacht graduated from Yale University and earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
