Mr. Gary Berger joined Ironbridge in 2007 following two years of private equity experience with CHAMP Private Equity and 15 years of senior operational experience.
He started his career in South Africa where he founded a business exporting retail consumer products to over 25 markets worldwide.
Following his emigration to Australia in 1998, he co-founded a technology business providing online and in-store prepaid payment solutions to over 100 national retail chains.
He subsequently held positions as Managing Director of Manassen Foods, the largest food importer and distributor in Australia, and CEO of Yale Appliance Group, the leading supplier of private label electronics in Australia and New Zealand.
In 2005, Mr. Berger entered the private equity industry when he joined CHAMP to lead a large scale food industry consolidation.
He sourced, negotiated and executed numerous successful acquisitions (including that of Manassen Foods), culminating in the formation of Food Holdings, now Australia's largest specialty food importer and distributor with revenues in excess of $500m.
Mr. Berger has a Business Science degree and Honours in Information Systems from the University of Cape Town.
