Prior to joining the firm in 1998, Mr. Friesen worked in London as a trader for Merrill Lynch in their non-dollar swap business from 1994 to 1996, and from 1996 to 1998 he was a director at Union Bank of Switzerland where he worked as a proprietary trader in the fixed income derivatives group.
He served on the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Investor Advisory Committee on Financial Markets from its inception in July 2009 through January 2014.
He earned an MBA from the Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario (1994) and a BA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario (1990).
He is a Registered General Securities Principal and General Securities Representative with FINRA, a CFTC Associated Principal, and an Associate Member of the NFA.
