David Shapiro

Mr. David Shapiro is a Client Portfolio Manager at Sustainable Growth Advisers LP.
He joined SGA in October 2019.
He worked closely with the team at SGA through his research and portfolio management responsibilities.
Mr. Shapiro was employed by Willis Towers Watson as a Portfolio Manager and Head of Global Equity Research for approximately 8 years during which he researched and ranked Global equity managers.
He launched and managed WTW’s Global Equity Focus Fund, which grew to over $6bn and also managed Alliance Trust, a UK quoted investment trust which adopted the same concentrated, multi-manager approach.
Earlier in his career, he was Deputy CIO of Stamford Associates, overseeing their research and client relationships and prior to this he held roles as a UK equity portfolio manager for several firms including UBS Asset Management (formerly Phillips and Drew), Aviva Investors (formerly Morley Fund Management) and Universities Superannuation Scheme.
Prior to his career in investment management, he worked as an investment analyst for two stockbroking firms.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Birmingham and is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
