Prior to joining Apax, Christian worked as a Partner for McKinsey & Company where he gathered experience in the Retail/Consumer, Tourism, Media and Energy sectors.
He has also had experience as an entrepreneur himself, in 1998 founding a chain of health stores that today operates across more than 100 locations in Germany.
He started his career at the Hypo Bank in Munich, where he worked as an investment manager from 1985 to 1987.
He graduated in business administration with honours at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, followed by a PhD in Strategic Management (also graduating with honours).
He is author of several publications about private equity and strategy development.
