Their internal research team seeks to identify the leaders in growing industries and to invest in companies that demonstrate a large and growing market opportunity for their products and services, compelling business strategies, strong track records of performance and superior management teams capable of executing their companies' growth strategies. Rayner & Haynor also has a strong fixed-income background and advises on all types of bonds including US Treasuries, federal agency securities, corporate bonds and municipal obligations. The firm does not advise on options, futures, commodities or other derivative securities. The firm diversifies all of their equity portfolios by sector and industry. They diversify their fixed-income portfolios by issuer, maturity and quality rating. Individual security selection is based on those issues that Rayner & Haynor believes will perform best in the forthcoming economic environment. Their time horizon for stock selection is three to five years with adjustments made if short-term conditions warrant. Issues that do not meet the firm's criteria are sold and replaced with more attractive investments.
